The alleged incident occurred during the period of Diwali.The court granted him bail relying on the forensic report that the material used in the bomb were used in and the incident happened during Diwali.  Shaikh was arrested in October 2018, after the Antop Hill police received information that the applicant in the vicinity of Nura Bazar, Bangalipura had exploded a handmade bomb."According to the bail order, during the probe the investigating officer recorded Shaikh’s confessional memorandum and he had showed the place from where he had bought the crackers and other articles.
The court also noted that no motive had been mentioned in the charge sheet and he did not have criminal antecedents.  The prosecution had opposed the bail plea saying that the accused could pose danger to the security of India and that the National Investigation Agency (NIA) was also checking if he had any links with terror groups. The Judge noted, "The material which was found, it is mentioned in the FSL report that may be used for preparing crackers."  The Judge agreed with advocate Khatri’s contentions that the applicant was entitled for bail.  A.. The arrest was made after a small blast at Antop Hill last year.  Advocate Adil Khatri said that the court had granted bail to his client Ejarul Kased Shaikh (24) on furnishing cash of `15,000.
